Carbonite is an EXCELLENT low cost solution for home and business users looking to backup their precious photos, personal data, and business documents. PROS:

• Easy to setup, easy to use. We were backing up our data in less than 10 minutes.
• Peace of mind, knowing our data is backed up.
• If after trying the service you decide not to use it, do nothing. There's nothing to worry about cancelling since you never gave a credit card number up front. This is trial-based service as it should be.

CONS:

• Online backup takes time at first, but then it's easy to maintain after the initial backup as only changes are backed up.
• It can take time to restore large amounts of data, also. However, better to take time to restore, than countless time and money trying to restore with no guarantees.

Xyden still recommends maintaining an external hard drive for an onsite backup, but Carbonite makes a great backup solution that's affordable and easy to use in addition to the onsite hard drive.
